Why use Doff & Torc cleaning for listed buildings?
Doff and Torik are steam based stone cleaning systems which use low pressure in conjunction with super heated steam to gently remove pollutants and unwanted surface contamination from a variety of surfaces, particularly stone and masonry. The steamed water quickly removes moss, algae, fungi and other biological matter whilst killing off growth spores, reducing the need for chemical treatments and delaying regrowth.
Cleaning stone and masonry with superheated steam allows the surface to dry quickly. Steam cleaning avoids the use of high pressure jetting, where water droplets can be forced into porous surfaces, which can become frozen in harsh winter periods, causing future deterioration.
Examples of use; cleaning all stones surfaces, including marble. Restoring masonry and brick cleaning, removal of light calcium staining, graffiti removal, bitumen and wax coatings removal, fire damage residues, roof cleaning and bird fouling, metal cleaning including aluminium, cleaning commercial cladding.
